The Brevard Elite 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Grade teams spent their Memorial Day weekend facing off against teams that came from as far away as North Carolina.
Our 4th Grade team placed 3rd in its division. The losses for the weekend came against the eventual tournament champion Florida Phenoms by a spread of 4 points and the tournament runner-up Elev8 Elite team by a margin of 2 points.
In an evenly matched 5th Grade division where only one team was winless and no team went unbeaten, Brevard Elite 2020 faced off against some of the region's toughest programs before being eliminated by an always tough Orlando Captains team in bracket play.
The Brevard Elite 6th Grade team's weekend extended into Monday morning. While navigating its way through the field of 20 teams, Brevard Elite 2019 stood at 4-1 heading into Monday morning's bracket match up with Crestview Force. In a tight game, we came just short by a score of 66-62.
Brevard Elite 2018 extended their Disney stay into Monday afternoon with several fine performances. After placing first on its net, the 7th Graders advanced into the semi-final game against the Garden City All Stars from Georgia. In the end, the young men needed another couple baskets to earn a trip to the championship game. Garden City won the semi-final game by a score of 64-60.
As always, our program was well represented by the way our young men competed on the court, as well as how they conducted themselves off the court. We are all very proud of them.
