Brevard Elite 5th Grade advanced through pool play with a 3-1 record and will move on to the Championship Bracket of the DII 5th Grade National Championship.

Monday's opening night brought the boys face to face with Mass Elite from Boston.  After a back and forth affair that left the youngsters with deficit heading into the 4th quarter, the team caught fire and moved on to a 38-33 win.

Day 2 brought a morning match up against the Stamford Peace from Stamford, Connecticut.  After battling hard for three quarters, the boys found themselves in the hole again heading into the final frame.  Like the game before, the team dug deep and exploded for a 17 point fourth quarter on their way to a 33-28 win.

In the afternoon of Day 2, the team came out strong as it rolled to a 10-6 lead at the end of one.  However, we couldn't keep the momentum going, as the team eventually fell to David West's Garner Road Bulldogs of Raleigh, NC.

Wrapping up pool play, the boys squared off against New World Basketball of Virginia.  A trip to the Championship Bracket was on the line as the teams battled for the invitation.  From the start, Brevard Elite came out with an aggressive attack as the boys knew what was on the line.  With tough defense and unselfish offense, the boys cruised to a 30-8 halftime lead and sailed right into Thursday's championship round game against Ohio's Buckeye Prep Basketball team.

Great job, Brevard Elite 2021.  We are so proud of you.  

Brevard Elite 2018 and 2020 represented the organization well this weekend with a strong showing in the Summertime Jamfest.

As with last weekend's tournament, Brevard Elite 2018 played up in age and competed against 9th grade teams in Tampa.  After finishing pool play unbeaten and advancing into the semi-finals of bracket play, the elder Elite team dropped a 59-49 game against the eventual tournament champion Central Florida Magic team.

Brevard Elite 2020 also played up in age in the 7th grade division of the Tampa tournament.  The younger team's potent offensive attack led all teams in the bracket in points per game.  After advancing through pool play unbeaten, the young men came up short in the semi-finals against Bay Area Hoops Elite by a score of 54-46.

It was another strong showing by Brevard Elite.

Over the weekend, the Brevard Elite 2018 and 2020 teams successfully played up an age bracket in the Brevard Bulls Super Regional.

Brevard Elite 2018 competed in the 9th grade division.  After finishing pool play with a 4-0 record, the senior Elite team earned a spot in the championship game against the St. John Celtics.  In the end, our young men were too much for the team from the North as they wrapped up the weekend's events with a 74-63 win in the finals.

Following their lead, Brevard Elite 2020 played up in the 7th grade division.  After completing pool play with one loss, the younger Elite team advanced through two rounds of playoff games and in to the championship game before falling to the Brevard Bulls 7th grade team by a score of 70-54.

In addition to being great ball players, they also excel in the classroom.

DQ Wynn wrapped up a successful academic year by graduating from Golfview Elementary.

Brevard Elite 2018 and 2020 each competed in the 2014 Allstate Super 60 tournment in New Orleans, LA.

Each team advanced through the qualifying brackets with unbeaten records  before falling in the Gold Bracket playoff rounds.

Currently, Brevard Elite 2018 is the 5th ranked 8th grade team in the state of Florida while Brevard Elite 2020 is 7th ranked 6th grade team in the state.

Congratulations to each team for a season of hard work and success!

Over the weekend, the Brevard Elite 5th Grade team stepped up in age to face 6th grade teams in the Big Shots Memorial Day Classic held in Daytona Beach.

Saturday morning's game provided a warm up for the team, as they moved easily through the event with a sizable margin of victory against North Point Black.  

The evening event was a bit more difficult, as the team faced off against the TAB Spurs 6th Grade team.  After trailing much of the game and by as many as 12 points with about 6 minutes remaining in the game, the team upped the pressure and went on a run that ended up sending the boys to a 40-37 win.

In a game that was much closer than the score would indicate, the weekend ended Sunday morning with a 45-24 loss against the Orlando Truth 6th Grade team.  While facing an incredible size disadvantage, the team battled hard and held an early lead against the team from Orlando.  

Through the weekend, the team showed great heart and determination.  With a balanced attack and unselfish play, the team ended the weekend with 3 of the Top 11 scorers from the tournament with James Black-Strain leading the way for Brevard Elite by finishing with the second highest scoring average of any player.  Hunter Davidson finished the weekend with the 9th highest scoring average and Q'Mare Phillips came in with the 11th highest scoring average.

Great job, Brevard Elite 2021!  

Brevard Elite 2021 completed the Florida District State Championships Saturday evening with a 30-29 loss to Team Triple Double, who finished the tournament in the Runner-Up position of the Silver Division.  The weekend's highlight for the youngsters was a 42-17 victory over the U'Nec Ballers, who went on to win the Bronze Division.

Brevard Elite 2020 completed the opening round unbeaten and advanced to the playoffs as a top seed in 6th Grade Division I.  On Sunday morning, the 6th Graders advanced in the playoffs with a first round 42-35 win over Florida Elite before falling in the semi-finals to the Runner-Up Florida TGFB team by a score of 48-45.  Our 6th Graders were the only team to beat the eventual champion Lakeland Fire.  The win came with a 10 point spread on opening day.

Brevard Elite 2018 Blue fought through the 8th Grade Division I bracket.  Our 8th Graders advanced through the opening round unbeaten before falling to the eventural Division I Champion E1T1 Elite Red team by three in overtime.  

Each team played with a great deal of heart and energy.  Each represented themselves and Brevard Elite well.  Great progress is being made this season and we are so proud of the yound men of Brevard Elite.

Brevard Elite 5th, 6th and 8th Grade will participate in this weekend's Florida District State Championships, which will be held at The Big House in Tavares, FL.

Our Brevard Elite 6th Grade Team defended their Tournament of Roses title in convincing fashion with a 70-40 win against the Carolina Chaos in the championship game, which was sponsored by the Orangburg Xpress.  

The Brevard Elite 8th Grade Blue Team also brought home the trophy.  They wrapped up their weekend with an 84-65 victory over Sidney Rice Team Tru.  

Our Brevard Elite 8th Grade White team made it through the first two playoff rounds before falling short against its brother team in the semi-finals.

Through the weekend, our teams complied an impressive overall record of 12-2.  Great job!


  

Brevard Elite returned home after a long weekend of play at the Disney Spring Classic.

The 6th Grade team finished the weekend by winning the championship in their age group after finishing the tournament with a perfect 7-0 record.  In the championship game, the young men pulled out the win against Orlando Team Jayhawks by a score of 50-28.

The Brevard Elite 5th Grade team advanced into the third round of the playoffs with wins over New Jersey's JJ Hoops and Hughley Elite of Palm Beach before falling to Florida Force in the semi-finals.

Brevard Elite Blue 8th Grade advanced through the field and into the semi-finals before falling to the eventual group champion Florida Force team in Division I.

Our 8th Grade White team advanced into the second round of the playoffs for Division II before coming up short against the Orlando Scorchers.

This was another fantastic showing by our team.  Great job, Elite!
