Over the weekend, the Brevard Elite 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Grade Teams competed in the Coast 2 Coast Super Regional Tournmanet held in Jacksonville, FL.
The 4th Grade Team wrapped up the weekend with the Runner-Up trophy after falling to the Georgia Thunder from Atlanta. After four periods of back and forth action, the game was knotted and sent into overtime. When the whistle blew at the end of overtime, the Thunder left the court with a 4 point win.
The 5th Grade Team worked its way to Sunday's championship game, which put them in a rematch game against the Jacksonville Nets. After coming up short against the Nets on Saturday evening, our 5th Graders came out focused and ready for the rematch. In the end, our 5th Graders were too much as they ended the weekend with a 52-47 championship game win.
The 6th Grade Team worked its way through the field of pool play with by an average score of 57-17 before heading into the playoff rounds. In the semi-finals, the 6th Graders faced off against an always tough LBF Stars team. Our team played tough through the end before falling short of a championship game bid by a score of 41-35.
The 7th Grade Team had a busy weekend as it navigated its way through the field. After finishing first in its pool, the team's Sunday consisted of three games over the course of nine hours. The final game, played at the Jacksonville Ice Plex, ended with a championship game win by a score of 63-31.
By consistently performing well, Brevard Elite basketball has made a place for itself throughout the State of Florida and the Southeast. In each tournament, teams from each age group have performed well and brought home multiple Super Regional Championships.
