Brevard Elite concluded another successful tournament weekend with a championship for the 6th Grade Team, a championship for the 8th Grade Blue Team, a runners-up finish for the 5th Grade Team and a semi-finals finish for the 8th Grade White Team.
Our 6th Grade Team finished pool play unbeaten and move into Sunday's playoff brackets with a number one seed. After defeating the host Jacksonville Magic in the semi-finals, the team met the Gainesville Storm in the championship game. In the back and forth match up, our 6th Graders turned out to be a little too much, as they returned home with a 63-58 win and a Super-Regional Championship.
Like the 6th Grade Team, our 8th Grade Blue Team advanced through Day 1 with an unbeaten mark and landed a semi-final match up against the Jacksonville Magic. Again, Brevard Elite came away with the win against the host team and advanced to the championship game against the South Florida Renegades. For the second tournament in a row, the Brevard Elite Blue Team came away with a win. When the buzzer sounded, the score read 52-46.
The Brevard Elite 5th Grade Team advanced through Saturday's play and a Sunday morning game in order to make to the championship round. Throughout the game, the youngsters battled an experienced Jacksonville Magic team. In the end, our guys came up just short in the defensive struggle. The gritty exhibition ended with a score of 28-24.
Our 8th Grade White Team competed in its second tournament since being formed. After battling through pool play with an unbeaten mark, the team advanced to the semi-final round before falling short against the Jacksonville Hawks by a score of 64-59.
